Objective: Recognize own written name
I do: Impress upon students how special their name is
We do: Play the name song game
You do: Students write their name on a sentence strip independently (use for assessment)
Enrichment Activity: Place strips of paper with students name in a sensory bin with rice to match with their photo.
Materials Needed: Name poem, sentence strips, rice sensory bin, small strips of paper

Math Mountain

Objective: Identify the word & Number 1
I do: Introduce number card
We do: Sing number song. Complete anchor chart
You do: Students practice giving “High 1’s” to their friends
Enrichment Activity: making number 1 out of playdough
Materials Needed: Play dough, number card, anchor chart, CD

At the conclusion of every theme we host a family night where parents are invited to come and experience “hands- on” some of the concepts the students have been learning about, as well as leave equipped with more ideas and support to continue the learning at home.
